MKS Instruments Names John T.C. Lee to Lead Business Unit
WILMINGTON, Mass., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MKS Instruments, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKSI), a leading worldwide provider of process control technologies for improving productivity in semiconductor and other advanced manufacturing processes, announced that John T.C. Lee has joined the company as Group Vice President, responsible for control and information technology and electrostatic discharge products. Dr. Lee, who joins MKS from Applied Materials, will report directly to Leo Berlinghieri, Chief Executive Officer and President.

Most recently, Dr. Lee served in Applied Material's Solar Business Group as Managing Director of the Technology and Solutions Integration Group. Earlier, he was General Manager of the Cleans Product Group and the Maydan Technology Center. He joined Applied from Lucent Technologies, where he was Research Director of the Silicon Fabrication Research Department. Earlier, he served in the Plasma Processing Research Group within Bell Labs. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
MKS' control and information technology is used to collect, control, and analyze process data in semiconductor manufacturing and in a range of other advanced processes -- from pharmaceutical and consumable medical equipment to oilfield exploration.
